Split Lip Press brings a boundary-breaking sensibility to small press publishing, producing high quality, beautifully designed books of fiction and nonfiction. We print on demand, have a short draft-to-release window, and have worked almost entirely on authors' first books. We run a guest-judged chapbook contest. We also collaborate with our authors as much as possible in terms of design and promotion. We think of our press as a literary family, with care and support of emerging writers being our top priority.

ABOUT US: PRESS TEAM
Amanda is a former high school English teacher/vintage seller. She is a current reader, writer, and mother. She received her MFA in Creative Writing from American University. She was formerly the fiction curator at Luna Luna Magazine and is the former Editor-in-Chief of Split Lip Magazine. You can find out more about her and her work here.
Jayme is a visual artist with a degree in Painting--but she also does graphic design, drawing, murals, and more. She designed many of our retro-themed logos, and her first book cover was for Katie Schmid's forget me/hit me/let me drink great quantities of clear, evil liquor. Jayme works closely with our authors to create the cover they envisioned/dreamed. You can see more samples of her work here.
Caleb Tankersley has been a professor, chef at a rehab center, high school teacher, and a security guard for a corn syrup factory. He received his PhD from the Center for Writers at The University of Southern Mississippi. He has worked with the literary magazines Big Muddy, Cape Rock, Memorious, and Mississippi Review. His writing appears in CutBank, Gargoyle, PacificaLiterary Review, Permafrost, PINBALL, Psychopomp, Sycamore Review, and others. Urban Farmhouse Press published his chapbook, Jesus Works the Night Shift, in 2014. For the 2017-18 academic year, he is traveling the world with his partner, Richie Bernardo.
